DIY Recipe For Natural Cleanser + Scrub In Your Own Kitchen

An easy DIY Natural Face Cleanser and scrub.

Natural beauty is more popular than ever and was also the way over 5,000 years ago thanks to Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is the oldest health science in the world. It’s basically as old as nature and incorporates everything from diet, lifestyle, herbs, treatments, even surgery.

So, what did they use to clean their skin all those years ago?

Here are two DIY recipes you can make in you own kitchen:

Skin Cleanser

INGREDIENTS:

20 mls full cream, non-homogenised cow’s milk.

7-8 drops of lemon juice

METHOD:

It will start to thicken naturally. Add more lemon if needed.

Use a make-up pad or sponge to cleanse the skin, you will be amazed by the amount of dirt that comes off.

Always use non-homogenised milk, even with the milk you drink. It’s less processed as essentially, we want products as close to their natural form as possible.

Chickpea Scrub

INGREDIENTS

½ cup chickpea flour

1 tsp of turmeric

METHOD:

Sprinkle of dried rose petals

Mix and bind to make a paste with either:

Dry skin (vata): milk

Sensitive, inflamed skin (pitta): rose water

Oily congested skin: plain water or rose water

Scrub the face or make a mask and let it set for a few minutes.

Chickpea flour (also known as Besan flour in Indian grocery stores) is a great base for a scrub or face mask. It is both exfoliating and moisturising, supporting smooth and firm skin, removes oiliness and unwanted facial hair.

Turmeric is a common ingredient in Ayurvedic cooking for its blood cleansing properties and ability to support circulation. It also enhances the condition and appearance of skin topically and internally.

Rose petals work as an excellent skin toner for all skin types, helping to control excess oil, unclog pores and maintain moisture
