A Natural Winter Makeup Look

a natural winter makeup look

Bare it all in winter and keep things simple with this natural winter makeup look.

Winter is the perfect time to give your skin a break from all the summer parties where you wore too much makeup, forgot to cleanse your skin and got home late at night, spent too much time in the sun and forgot to re-apply sunscreen.

No matter what time of the year it, the skin goes through a lot of stress, whether it’s hot or cold. And, in the cooler months, when you’re more inclined to stay in out of the cold, it’s the best time give your skin a well-deserved break.

Try this no makeup makeup look, for a natural winter look.

START WITH THE BASE:

First things first, always start with a good base and up the anty of your skincare routine. This means, cleanse, follow with a rich activated serum to help lock in moisture and protect from the cold, follow with a face oil (if you like that sort of thing) and then end with a rich moisturiser. Something which help retain moisture in the skin, but isn’t too greasy either.

Once the base is taken care of, it’s time to apply a primer. Beauty Blender have released a fabulous new range of primers designed to target specific skin concerns and needs. From nourishing to SPF.

We like the ‘The Leveler Pore Minimising Primer’ (RRP $48) which helps to reduce pores, smooth and fill the skin. Or try their new ‘Selfie Shield SPF Primer’ (RRP $48) which is a dry oil primer and contains a Broad Spectrum SPF 38.

Both Primers can be used alone or worn under any foundation with ease.

TIME FOR THE TOP COAT:

If you are opting to use foundation on top of your primer, we recommend using a light-weight powder foundation to prevent any excess clogging of the pores.

Powder wears really well over the top of primer, particularly as you don’t have to wait for the primer to set first. Just dust on and you are good to go. We recommend using ‘IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores’ powder (RRP $39) which is a poreless finish airbrush powder. It covers blemishes without caking and is buildable if needed throughout the day.

POLISH OFF YOUR EYES:

Keep your eyes simple and focus on the brows and lashes only for winter and give your lids a break. Of course, if your summer tan is fading off and you look a little washed out, swipe on your favourite lid shade for some colour.

If you’re looking to give your lids a break, we recommend using ‘IT Cometics Brow Power’ (RRP $38) for the brows which is a universal colour. Depending on the amount of pressure you use, you can adjust the colour to suit your brows. Light pressure for fair and heavier pressure for dark.

Finish with the NEW ‘Inika Curvy Lash Vegan Mascara’ (RRP $45) to clean up the eye, which is a natural, organic, vegan and cruelty-free mascara designed to nourish your lashes, protect and even help them grow.

HEADING OUT?

Your look is complete. But, if you are planning on facing the cold for a few drinks with friends, finish off your look with a simply touch of glam using some of the brilliant new products now available with Fenty Beauty.

To stay true to your no makeup makeup look, we recommend a apply dust of the ‘Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter’ by Fenty Beauty (RRP $54) across the cheekbones and a streak of the sparkling new ‘Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer’ in clear with glitter (RRP $30) across your lips for a simple glammed up look.

Available in three hot shades; Dimond Milk (pictured), Fu$$y and Fenty Glow.

TIP: the Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter is available in a variety of different shades, for a natural winter makeup look, try the shade Wattabrat for as soft warm pink glow to the cheeks.
