My Skincare Routine with Edible Beauty

My skincare routine with Edible Beauty

From cleansing to complete hydration, I followed a strict Edible Beauty skincare routine for a month, and this is what happened.

Skincare has always been an important part of my morning and evening routine, especially when one day I wake up completely blemish-free and clear and the next, I wake up with a greasy forehead and a chin full of spots.

And although many skincare specialists tell me my type of skin is a blessing as it will help my skin age better due to the oil produced on a constant basis. It’s frustrating to say the least when there just never seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to controlling the oil and controlling the blemishes.

Of course, it could be worse. I am lucky enough to have never had acne, psoriasis or any other major skincare concern, other than eczema when I was younger; which went away when I stopped having dairy – but I’ll save that for another column.

I manage my skin as best as I can, with microdermabrasion once a month for a deep cleanse to the pores, fruit enzyme masks to control and heal blemishes faster and of course always maintaining a very strict skincare routine, both AM and PM.

When the Edible Beauty skincare range happened across my desk for trial, I wondered what it would be like to stick to an even stricter skincare routine, using nothing but natural, Edible Beauty products.

Edible Beauty is a plant-based skincare brand, 100 percent Australian owned and made. The brand delivers a range of products that can be used externally and internally, to help you have the best skin.

With a range of beauty powders, wellness supplements, and beauty teas, the core belief of Edible Beauty is to replenish what’s in the inside as well as the outside, to supercharge your beauty and wellness.

I generally cocktail my beauty. Which simply means, mixing and matching products from different brands, from face serums, face cleansers to moisturisers. Nothing in my cupboard is the same brand, well maybe just a few matchy-matchy products, but that’s rare.

So, I started on the first day of October, following a very strict AM and PM skincare beauty routine, using the Core Four range by Edible Beauty.

The Core Four (RRP $200) skincare range, which includes a cleanser, a toner, a serum, and a hydrating lotion is a popular choice for anyone starting new to using Edible Beauty, or new to starting a regulated skincare routine.

The Four Core Range by Edible Beauty which includes the Belle Frais Cleansing Milk, The Citrus Rhapsody Toner Spray, The Exotic Goddess Ageless Serum and the Vanilla Silk Hydration Lotion.

Step One:

Using the new Eco-Enchantress Makeup Remover Puffs (RRP $14) with the Pure Enchantress Makeup Remover Oil (RRP $44), you first apply the oil to the skin and massage in using circular motions. Then you dampen one of the puffs and wipe off all the excess oil from the face, which also removes any makeup, dirt or grime.

You then move onto using the beautiful Belle Frais Cleansing Milk (RRP $59), massaging into the skin and then using a dry puff you cleanse the skin using circular motions to buff the skin. Once done, you wash your face with warm water, and viola, clean skin.

Step Two:

Now that skin is completely cleansed and all your pores have been thoroughly puffed from any dead skin cells, you lightly mist your face with the Citrus Rhapsody Toner Mist(RRP $46), which adds to the cells of the skin much-needed vitamins and minerals before applying any serums and oils.

Step Three:

You then follow with the beautiful smelling Exotic Goddess Ageless Serum (RRP $74). This serum is a beauty booster, so it’s loaded up with ingredients like Davidson Plum, Organic Camellia, Kakadu Plum, and Hyaluronic Acid, all of which provide rich antioxidants to the skin and help keep skin looking youthful, well hydrated and plump in appearance.

Step Four:

Between steps three and four, I like to add in the use of their Snowflower Illuminating Face Oil (RRP $72) for a nourishing boost when the weather is either very windy or incredibly hot. Because yes, although I have oily skin, when the wind is blowing, or the temps are dry outside, the natural (and excess) oil in my skin will burn out fast and it does often leave me feeling very dry.

Once I have applied the face oil, I let it sit for a few minutes, so my pores really soak in all the benefits of the oil. Then I apply the Vanilla Silk Hydrating Lotion (RRP $59).

This lotion works well with the face oil, as it’s lightweight, with a satin texture, and made with cocoa and shea butter, which helps to balance skin texture and appearance, by reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

All the products from the Edible Beauty skincare range are designed to help skin look and feel amazing, and I’ll be the first to admit, maybe cocktailing your beauty routine isn’t always the best.

I had instant results from using the Edible Beauty skincare range, after only two days of using it and by the end of the month, my skin felt amazing and with very little blemishes. Okay, so I had a few. They didn’t last long though. Thanks to the buffing process when cleansing and the nourishing ingredients of the products in the range, those spots didn’t get a chance to hang around for long.

My partner Greg was the first to notice a change on my overall skin health and appearance, commenting on how clear and fresh it always looked. Winning!

Will I stay with Edible Beauty? Yes, for as long as I can. Although writing beauty has its challenges where you are required to trial a lot of products, I will keep Edible Beauty as my go-to for when there are no products to trial. I think my skin with thank me for it.

My Favourite Beauty Product of the Week:

Raww Superfoods Smooth-ME Fine Line Serum RRP $29.99

Finally, a face serum good enough to eat.

If you love the smell of acai bowls in summer, you’re going to love this face serum by RAWW. It’s simply delicious and almost good enough to eat. Made with some of the finest superfood ingredients like coconut water, WildBerry harvest, Goji Berry and Acai Berry, it reminds me of my first time eating an acai bowl for breakfast in Hawaii. The texture of this serum is thicker than most, but don’t let that turn you off using it. The formula absorbs quick into skin and dries well enough to apply any other product on your skin afterwards, with no wait time necessary.

This is my go-to serum when the weather starts to warm, as it kicks starts my senses in the morning with a scent of berry to awaken my skin and get me going for the day. Of course, your skin won’t smell like berries for long. However, the initial berry boost to the skin first thing in the morning after cleansing is simply wonderful and helps to keeps my skin soft and supple all, especially when the temps are souring in summer.
