Belmond Ltd is a global collection of exceptional hotel and luxury travel adventures and they have just launched a first for Europe, a spa on a train.

The Bamford Haybarn Spa is the first spa carriage to feature aboard Belmond’s portfolio of luxury trains and features bespoke Bamford treatments for passengers.

Bamford Haybarn Spas is a well-known British wellness brand which are inspired by nature, include botanical skincare collections and holistic treatments made with organic ingredients.

Individually crafted, Bamford treatments are devoted to connecting the mind, body and soul with the natural world.

The Belmond Royal Scotsman offers two 7 night long itineraries, which depart from Edinburgh, Scotland and travels through the Scottish Highlands, past sweeping glens, towering peaks and black-mirrored lochs. The train is essentially a country house on wheels and features beautifully designed en-suite cabins and a personalised steward service. There is even an observation car with an open veranda, which allows to really absorb and take in your surroundings at its fullest.

Gary Franklin, managing director of Belmond Trains and Cruises says the launch of their very first ever spa carriage on a train has been very exciting, as they can now offer guests a new way to relax, de-stress and unwind, whilst reflecting on their journey travelling the stunning Scottish scenery.

The spa itself has been designed using sustainable wood from Scotland and features two single-treatment rooms with views of the passing countryside. All treatments take place throughout the journey as the train is a high-speed vehicle, with no stops. Making the journey smooth enough for the new spa concept on a train to work efficiently.

A round trip from Edinburgh with the Belmond Royal Scotsman have packages with a starting range of approx. $4000 per person, which includes your standard spa treatments of facials, massages and manicures.

The spa will also offer a range of signature specials like the 55-minute Bamford Bespoke Facial for $94, which starts with facial reflexology, lymphatic drainage, yogic breathing and ends with a deep tissue hot stone back massage or the 85-minute Bamford Body Signature Massage, which includes a foot massage and reflexology for around $138.
